Bio

band4Crucial Elements is a progressive roots, rock, reggae band based in Richmond, VA. The band was formed in 1999 by Wylie Jones(vox/guitar), Austin – the Jahlifter(vox/guitar), Ryan Rice(bass), Kwan Burke(keys/trumpet), and Nick Thorpe(drums). Nick was replaced about a year later by the one and only Chuckie Love. This lineup stayed together for four years performing all over the east coast region. In 2003 Crucial disbanded and wouldn’t return for almost three years.

In 2006 Austin and Chuckie reassembled Crucial Elements adding Joshua Crenshaw on keyboards, Gregory Haynes on guitar/vocals, and Scott Payton on bass. Crucial quickly regained its position in the Richmond music scene and released their first full length album “Jamocracy” in 2007.

In 2008 bassist Scottie P was replaced with Jason Jarrell and the music has never sounded better. With three piece harmony singing and intricately arranged original compositions Crucial Elements is gaining fans all over the globe.
